How rankings and updates work
Public character discovery covers Europe, America East and America West. Choose a region for search and rankings. Name searches return at most 12 matches; background discovery rotates server, class and name filters across level-sorted pages of 40. A completed search page does not prove a complete server census.
Combat Power and equipment are collected separately. CP targets: up to 1,000 leading tracked characters every 60 minutes, up to 2,000 other recently viewed characters every 6 hours, and other eligible profiles every 5 days. Equipment targets are 6 hours, 24 hours and 14 days respectively. These are scheduling targets; the shared request budget, backlog and source availability can delay updates. Below-level-45 characters do not receive scheduled equipment requests. Discovery can find them again after leveling up.
Rankings compare our tracked sample within the selected region. Available level 45+ profiles with CP observed within 7 days qualify, even while gear is pending. Equal CP shares a rank. Rankings are rebuilt approximately every 5 minutes, before class/server filters and the 50-row display limit. CP and equipment timestamps are displayed separately; unchanged CP does not mean unchanged equipment.
Unavailable item level or power is never treated as zero. Combat Power is not a DPS simulation or a best-in-slot recommendation. Item effects, class needs and activity still matter.
