Group PvE Dungeon LOADOUT

Stigmas

Equip these 4 Stigmas

Start with Assault Stance, Zikel's Blessing, Raging Burst and Focused Block. Block deliberately to protect yourself and trigger Experienced Counter; then spend the Slam window.

Raging Burst

Stigma Lv. 1 → 5 → 10
✓ Equip · Debuff + Slam activation

Damages and weakens enemy attack, buffs your damage and temporarily enables Overhead Slam.

Opens the Overhead Slam window. First reach Stigma 5 for the 15-second cooldown reduction before continuing toward 10.

Focused Block

Stigma Lv. 1 → 5 → 10
✓ Equip · Planned frontal block

Channelled frontal weapon block with improved blocked-damage reduction; successful blocks recover MP and stamina.

Time a successful parry for Experienced Counter and an incoming blockable hit. Stigma 5 adds a consecutive use; 10 allows movement. Do not assume every mechanic can be blocked.

Assault Stance

Stigma Lv. 1 → 5 → 10
✓ Equip · Combat-speed window

Temporarily increases combat speed.

Combat-speed buff (Global: Lunge Stance). Target 10 in this plan; the critical-triggered cooldown effect is a separate later Stigma-20 milestone.

Stigma upgrade priority — target Lv. 10

Unlock your four equipped Stigmas at Lv. 1 first. For this Gladiator setup, first take Raging Burst to Lv. 5, then Focused Block to Lv. 5 if equipped. After those checkpoints, continue toward Lv. 10 in the order below. These are investment targets, not the game’s maximum ranks. Upgrade a situational replacement when you actually use it; do not spend on every alternative first.

  1. Raging Burst — Lv. 1 → 5 → 10 · Debuff + Slam activation
  2. Focused Block — Lv. 1 → 5 → 10 · Planned frontal block
  3. Assault Stance — Lv. 1 → 5 → 10 · Combat-speed window
  4. Zikel's Blessing — Lv. 1 → 5 → 10 · Attack and accuracy

For a regular situational setup, the replacement takes the removed skill’s place in this order. Source notes about other ranks describe those ranks; they are not Lv. 10 effects.

Unlock all four equipped Stigmas at 1. Take Raging Burst to 5 first, then Focused Block to 5 if equipped. Continue the displayed 1 → 5 → 10 targets; Lunge Stance 20 is a separate later reference.

Stigmas level with Shards. They do not use Mastery Specialty slots.

Other Stigmas — optional reference

Wave of Wrath

Stigma Lv. 1 → 5 → 10
Alternative · Situational alternative

Area damage that reduces enemy attack and can knock enemies down.

Not equipped in this set. Situational alternative.

Blade Toss

Stigma Lv. 1 → 5 → 10
Alternative · Defense reduction

Ranged attack chain that reduces enemy defense and received healing.

Not equipped in this set. Defense reduction.

Tenacity

Stigma Lv. 1 → 5 → 10
Alternative · Emergency personal survival

Briefly negates damage and control; some powerful attacks bypass it. Shares an invulnerability restriction with certain support skills.

Not equipped in this set. Emergency personal survival.

Assault Strike

Stigma Lv. 1 → 5 → 10
Alternative · Situational alternative

Area HP/MP damage with knockdown potential; grants defense based on targets hit.

Not equipped in this set. Situational alternative.

Crushing Rush

Stigma Lv. 1 → 5 → 10
Alternative · Situational alternative

Rushes forward, damaging and potentially rooting enemies along the path.

Not equipped in this set. Situational alternative.

Situational Stigmas

Choose these Stigmas only when the situation applies. Replace the named skill before the encounter and keep exactly four equipped.

Recommended starting set: Boss tanking and damage. The checked skills and recommended Specialty options use this starting set. Active-skill and passive investment priorities are shared; review the encounter-specific Specialty notes before changing options.

Comfortable area damage

Situation: Only when a planned block is unnecessary and you can give up its reliable party-buff trigger, replace Focused Block with Wave Armor for nearby area damage.

Change one slot: From Boss tanking and damage, replace Focused Block with Wave Armor. Keep the other three Stigmas.

Complete alternative set: Raging Burst + Assault Stance + Zikel's Blessing + Wave Armor.

Wave Armor

Situational · Stigma Lv. 1 → 5 → 10

Continuously damages enemies around the caster.

Use it: Use for nearby area damage when its slot is justified. It is not a replacement for a required Focused Block.

Each example starts from its named set. If you combine changes, check that the outgoing skill is still equipped and that the final bar contains four Stigmas.

Early build → total-16 transition

Ruinous Blow buffs your damage. Raging Burst opens the Overhead Slam window. Equip the rank-dependent options before changing your rotation.

StageOverhead SlamRending BlowHow to play

After the core pair reaches 16, Sword Aura Rampage 16 is a situational cooldown tool during stagger. Keep block, movement and control breaks deliberate. The solo recovery Stigma set omits Raging Burst: restore it before using the developed Slam loop.

Early Stigma checkpoints: Raging Burst 5, then Focused Block 5 if equipped, before continuing the displayed Lv. 10 targets. Assault Stance (Global: Lunge Stance) 20 is a separate later milestone; its critical-triggered cooldown effect is not active at 10.

Reviewed 5 October 2026 · Grobs: mid-game transition · Global client references checked; no measured DPS or guaranteed buff uptime.

Play it in 3 steps

  1. Time Focused Block for a blockable opening hit if equipped; activate Assault Stance and Zikel's Blessing when the boss is attackable.
  2. Use Ruinous Blow for Prepare for Battle, then Raging Burst to enable Overhead Slam. Use Slam while available; Rending Blow fills the gaps.
  3. Before the total-16 setup, weave Keen Strike for MP. After equipping both key total-16 options, use Keen Strike only when recovery is needed; never interrupt mechanics for damage.

Skills

Active skills & special abilities

All 12 active skills, their effects and Specialty selections for Group PvE Dungeon.

Total 8 → 1 slot · 12 → 2 slots · 16 → all options · 20 → 3 slots

Option numbers match the five lines shown on each skill. Total level includes gear and Daevanion bonuses. At total 16 all five options are available, but you still have two slots. The third slot opens at total 20. Checked options show our recommended total-20 setup; use the milestone selections below at lower levels. This is not a requirement to raise every skill to 20.

Keen Strike

Base Lv. 8 → 10

Attack chain that increases enmity and restores MP.

Use it: Weave for MP in the early rotation. Once both key total-16 options are selected and MP is stable, keep it for recovery instead of forcing it between every spender.

Early MP builder. Do not force it between every attack once Slam 16 and Rending Blow 16 are equipped and MP is stable; keep it available for recovery.

Macro Guide

PvE practice layout · adapted to this activity’s equipped Stigmas · Reviewed 9 Oct 2026

Copy the columns, then choose comfortable keys. These are example bindings. Hover or focus a skill for its effects; on touch screens, tap to inspect it.

Skill bar placement

Top: row 3 · Bottom: row 0, checked first. Gold columns belong to the macro.

Gold: macro columns · Blue: manual skills · LMB: basic attack

Example keys: upper manual slots use Shift. Scroll the bar sideways on smaller screens.

0 → 1 → 2 → 3: the first usable skill wins. A repeatable filler placed too early can prevent later skills from firing.

Manual skills · separate bindings

These complete the bar with every remaining active skill and equipped Stigma. Keep each on a separate binding outside the repeating macro. Numbers identify manual slots, not required keys or a cast order. Passive skills do not occupy bar slots.

Set up the in-game macro

  1. Arrange the columns as shown in the Skill screen. Open Macro and add these quick-slot columns:
1 Q column2 E column
  1. Bind Macro to a spare key, for example RMB, in Settings → Key Settings → General. Keep that binding separate from the Q/E columns.
  2. For an initial test, use 50 ms per entry as an editorial starting point. Test on a target dummy; this is not a measured optimum. Reduce or increase it only after checking which skills actually fire.
  3. Hold the macro key during safe damage uptime; release it to stop. Use the basic attack as described below. Manual input takes priority. Step order is not guaranteed: this is not a fixed one-press combo.

Mouse macro bindings need a compatible control mode; check AION 2 Control Mode if they do not work. Preset changes stop the macro. Recheck the columns in each preset.

Only Stigmas equipped in this guide’s current starting set are shown; keep exactly four equipped. When you swap a Stigma, replace its bar slot too.

Not in this activity’s starting set: Lifestealing Blade. Their macro slots are left empty. Add them only after making the matching Stigma swap; do not equip an extra Stigma just to copy the picture.

Written placement · highest priority first

  • LMB: Keen Strike.
  • Q: 0: Raging Burst → 1: Overhead Slam → 2: Rending Blow.
  • E: 0: Ruinous Blow → 1: empty.

Separate manual slots

  • 3: Assault Stance
  • 4: Zikel's Blessing
  • 5: Mocking Blade
  • 6: Crushing Wave
  • 7: Leaping Strike
  • 8: Ankle Slash
  • 9: Focused Block
  • 0: Shock Release
  • -: Sword Aura Rampage
  • =: Rush Strike
  • Shift+3: Aerial Snare

Start with the macro and use Keen Strike for MP when needed; see the developed-build note.

How to use this layout

  • The main column checks equipped Raging Burst before Overhead Slam and Rending Blow. The second column keeps Ruinous Blow separate so its Combat Ready window is not buried under a repeatable filler.
  • Use equipped Assault Stance and Zikel's Blessing before a safe damage window. Keep Focused Block, gap closers and situational area attacks manual.
  • Keen Strike is a starter MP option. In a developed total-16 setup with Rending Blow's MP-on-critical Specialty, test the two damage columns without continuously holding the basic attack; do not copy an advanced loop before its resource sustain works.

Editorial layout, not an in-game DPS benchmark. Regional names, skill levels and selected Specialties can change its behavior. Community class guide · source comparisons · English in-game macro controls.

Passive skills & investment priorities

Max these passives first — in this order

For Group PvE Dungeon, put your passive upgrade points into the priority skills below. Max the first one, then the next, until this list is complete. Do not spread points across optional passives first.

  1. Experienced Counter — max Base Lv. 10
  2. Attack Preparation — max Base Lv. 10
  3. Impact Hit — max Base Lv. 10
  4. Mortal Burst — max Base Lv. 10

Experienced Counter

1. Max first · Base Lv. 10

Raises frontal damage; a successful block grants party damage amplification. The party effect does not stack with Templar Fury.

First priority while taking frontal hits: a successful block/parry activates the party damage buff. Does not stack with Templar Fury; mechanics still take priority.

Attack Preparation

2. Max first · Base Lv. 10

Increases PvE/PvP damage amplification, defense and accuracy.

Second early priority for damage, defense and accuracy.

Impact Hit

3. Max first · Base Lv. 10

Increases impact-type hit and a bonus-strike stat.

After the early pair, invest for Double Chance; control chance alone is not the PvE reason.

Mortal Burst

4. Max first · Base Lv. 10

Landing attacks builds stacks; at five, consumes them for area damage and a critical-damage buff.

Develop after Impact Hit for its repeated-hit damage and critical-damage window; uptime depends on actual hits.

Optional passives — after your priorities

Keep these at their initial rank while completing the priority list. Invest leftover points only when their effect helps your build or encounter.

Survival Stance

Optional · upgrade after the priority list

Increases maximum HP and natural HP recovery.

A safety investment for learning or sustained incoming damage.

Protective Armor

Optional · upgrade after the priority list

Increases block and restores HP on a successful block.

More useful when you are actually taking frontal attacks than while safely attacking from behind.

Blood Absorption

Optional · upgrade after the priority list

Attacks can restore health; also provides recovery when health falls below its threshold.

Optional sustain after the damage priorities. Move it forward if deaths or recovery downtime stop progression.

Exploit Weakness

Optional · upgrade after the priority list

Increases critical and perfect chance.

An offensive investment alongside your damage-amplification passives.

Destructive Impulse

Optional · upgrade after the priority list

Adds damage against targets under impact-type control or stagger.

Exploit actual control/stagger windows; it is not unconditional damage on every boss hit.

Survival Willpower

Optional · upgrade after the priority list

Adds control resistance and conditional damage tolerance/resistance after receiving control effects.

A control-heavy encounter or PvP investment; retain an active control break too.

Skill-level lines

Rings and weapons can supply active levels; armor, earrings and necklaces can supply passive levels. Compare the next level's benefit before replacing a strong stat line.

Active skills to inspect: Keen Strike · Rending Blow · Ruinous Blow

Passive skills to inspect: Experienced Counter · Attack Preparation · Impact Hit

These follow this build's skill priorities, not a measured ranking of gear rolls. Total 16 opens all Specialty options; total 20 opens the third slot. Count gear, Arcana and Daevanion together.

Before spending on rerolls

  • Keep a useful rare line first. Improve affordable secondary lines afterward; do not chase perfect rolls on temporary gear.
  • Accuracy and Critical Hit needs change with buffs and enemy defenses. Check real encounters instead of copying an unverified cap.
  • Attack increase is a percentage line; Attack is a flat line. Cooldown Reduction is not an ordinary roll on every slot; Illusion is one way to obtain cooldown support.

GLOBAL EU · Melee damage

Gladiator consumables

Keep attacking through safe windows; use personal recovery to stay in melee without making the healer cover avoidable damage.

Role recommendations are editorial. Item effects come from NC’s Global EU records, checked 30 September 2026; the rest of this class guide keeps its own region scope.

Before attacking

Power Shard (Bound)

Activate for attack windows; ordinary shards are the budget starting point.

Timed combat buff

Courage Scroll (Bound)

Check the five-minute timer before a serious pull.

Food choice

Artisan's Roasted Fogus (Bound)

An all-faction attack/accuracy food option from supplies and rewards. A practical choice when already owned; check stock before buying alternatives.

Role priority

Absorption Scroll (Bound)

Use before predictable incoming damage. The per-hit limit and total absorption cap are different limits; this is a finite shield, not immunity.

Personal emergency

Life Crystal (Bound)

Check the level requirement. Keep instant recovery reachable; avoid overhealing.

Use attack/accuracy food for routine damage. On progression pulls, a survival meal is a reasonable trade when incoming damage forces you out of melee.

Battle Enhance Scroll (Bound) is an optional damage-and-survival addition for serious attempts. Superior Healing Potion is a personal cleanse for eligible effects, not an HP heal.

Quick start: role, strengths and tradeoffs

Build recommendation

Agree who takes the boss before the pull. Keen Strike, Rending Blow and Overhead Slam generate extra threat, so be prepared to tank when assigned. Frontal bonuses reward safe positioning; they do not justify standing in a lethal cleave. Experienced Counter and Templar Fury do not stack, nor do the relevant Rage Burst and Taunt attack debuffs. This overlap is a coordination issue, not a ban on bringing both classes.

Choose a four-slot PvE Stigma loadout

Build recommendation

Use exactly four. For boss damage, keep the two self-buffs and the Slam trigger; choose the fourth slot for the encounter. The solo recovery set deliberately trades away the trigger.

SituationFour StigmasDecision
Group boss / learningAssault Stance; Zikel's Blessing; Raging Burst; Focused BlockDefault: a deliberate parry can trigger Experienced Counter.
Comfortable packsAssault Stance; Zikel's Blessing; Raging Burst; Wave ArmorReplace Focused Block only if its defensive/party-buff role is unnecessary. Wave Armor is nearby damage, not a substitute block.
Safe farm damageAssault Stance; Zikel's Blessing; Raging Burst; Blade TossUse the existing farm preset when the debuff helps and survival is covered.
Solo recoveryAssault Stance; Zikel's Blessing; Wave Armor; Lifestealing BladeFor the developed Slam loop, replace Lifestealing Blade with Raging Burst and keep the other three.

Before the pull

Build recommendation

Check your preset, resource bar, selected specialties and party assignments before starting. A developed rotation only works when its rank-dependent effects are actually equipped.

  1. Confirm the party role and required survival or control tool.
  2. Confirm your main skill-rank thresholds in the skill screen after changing gear.
  3. Use the appropriate consumable and position for both damage and party support.
  4. Identify the first dangerous mechanic and reserve the skill that answers it.

Opening rotation: step by step

Build recommendation

Adapt the opening to the boss' first attack; a fixed button string cannot choose the right block timing.

Single-target priority and resource loop

Build recommendation

Ruinous Blow supplies Prepare for Battle; Raging Burst supplies the repeatable Slam activation window. They have different jobs.

StageDamage loopMP rule
Early / before key total-16 optionsBuff → Ruinous Blow → Raging Burst → Overhead Slam when available → Rending Blow.Weave Keen Strike to recover MP.
Slam 16 + Rending 16, correct options equippedSpend the Raging Burst window on Slam and its selected chain; Rending Blow between windows.Stop forcing Keen Strike into every cycle only if MP stays stable. Recover with it when needed.
Stagger, important cooldowns unavailableSword Aura Rampage 16 can shorten cooldowns on hit.Keep it situational; the creator advises against replacing a working buffed Slam window.

Skill progression and specialty milestones

Build recommendation

Base investment and total skill level are different. Total includes board, gear and Arcana. One Specialty slot opens at 8, a second at 12, a third at 20; total 16 unlocks all options but still permits only two.

SkillEarly choiceTotal 16 / later
Keen StrikeMP restoration, then multihit when two slots fit.Keep as recovery; it is not mandatory between every developed burst hit.
Rending BlowMobile at 8; mobile + smaller-target damage at 12.MP-on-crit + mobile at 16; add smaller-target damage at 20.
Overhead SlamChain at 8; chain + critical hit at 12.Cooldown removal + chain at 16; add critical hit at 20. Recovery/AoE alternatives trade a slot.
Ruinous BlowSpeed and extra-hit damage; apply its buff before the Slam window.Do not spend bonus-rank budget here before the two key 16s.
Sword Aura RampageUse only during stagger.Cooldown reduction at 16 is a later situational goal.
Leaping Strike / Rush Strike / Shock ReleaseKill reset / range / HP recovery at 8 when useful.Utility is optional; do not delay the core thresholds just to max every skill.

Stigma checkpoints and the later Lunge Stance goal

Build recommendation

Unlock your four equipped skills at 1. Raging Burst 5 reduces its cooldown by 15 seconds; Focused Block 5 adds one consecutive use. Reach these two checkpoints before continuing the displayed 1 → 5 → 10 investment targets. Grobs then pursues Lunge Stance 20: its critical-hit cooldown effect belongs to 20, not 10. Treat that as a separate later goal, not a beginner requirement or a promise of permanent buffs.

Positioning setting and a readiness check

Build recommendation

In Settings → Info Display → Combat, look for the boss orientation indicator. Use it to find the front, then respect the mechanic. Before switching to the developed loop, confirm Slam total 16 + cooldown removal, Rending Blow total 16 + MP-on-crit, enough MP during a moving fight, and a plan for the first blockable hit. If one check fails, keep the early recovery pattern.

Passive skills: what earns its points

Build recommendation

Early: Experienced Counter, then Attack Preparation. After that: Impact Hit, then Mortal Burst. These are the displayed Base-10 priorities. Blood Absorption remains a useful sustain alternative; move it forward when survival or recovery downtime is the actual obstacle. Do not generalize a high-rank tooltip percentage to a new character.

Packs, area damage and farming

Build recommendation

Let the tank collect enemies before committing your area attacks. Use Crushing Wave and the chosen area Stigma on the gathered pack, then sustain the core melee loop. Use Leaping Strike kill-reset utility while questing. Avoid pulling another pack with an automatic gap closer or displacing enemies out of party ground effects.

Group mechanics, survival and utility

Build recommendation

If assigned to tank, establish the pull and face the boss away from teammates. Time Focused Block on a known blockable opening hit to activate Experienced Counter; some openings favour blocking before buffs. Keep block, movement and Shock Release manual. Avoid unblockable mechanics and lethal cleaves even when frontal damage would be higher. Wave Armor is an area-damage choice, not the same defensive tool.

Daevanion: route priorities

Build recommendation

Take reachable attack and combat-speed value on Nezekan, damage on Zikel and critical-damage value on Vaizel. Connect useful core-skill ranks before expensive detours; Triniel multihit is a later offensive option when the basic loop works. For PvE-specific books, prefer Ariel nodes relevant to the content being farmed. Select a connected route by its total cost, including prerequisite nodes.

Select the destination, inspect all prerequisite nodes and compare the total cost. A nearby useful passive can make a slightly different route better than the shortest route through irrelevant bonuses. Save the preset before testing a different role.

Grobs describes a 65-point early board to help the four core attacks reach total 12. The exact coordinates and total cost were not independently verified here; check the connected path in your current regional planner before spending.

Bonus skill ranks: board, accessories and Arcana

Build recommendation

First reach the useful early total-12 setups. Then prioritize Overhead Slam 16 and Rending Blow 16, with their rank-16 options actually selected. Check both totals after equipment changes. Sword Aura Rampage 16 and Ruinous Blow ranks follow only after the core loop works. No fixed gear-score threshold guarantees this setup.

Gear and stat decisions

Build recommendation

For damage, compare weapon attack, combat speed, damage amplification and useful accuracy against the content. Frontal modifiers require safe frontal uptime. If unavoidable damage is killing you, retain HP/tolerance rather than trading all defense for a theoretical stationary-target gain. Use absorption specialties to address sustain without assuming that every gear slot must be defensive.

Compare the same encounter and buff conditions. Accuracy is a requirement against the actual target, not one universal number. A rank threshold, a survivable hit or a sustainable resource loop can be worth more than a small increase in displayed combat power.

Equipment checklist by slot

Build recommendation

Use this as an upgrade worksheet. Exact affix pools and item tiers depend on the item record; do not assume every desired effect can roll on every slot.

SlotLook forDecision rule
Weapon / offhandMain damage and available offensive rollsCompare attack, useful speed/amplification and cost; retain the core skill-rank plan.
ArmorSurvival and relevant specialty affixesSolve the mechanic that kills you; then compare offensive affixes actually present in that item pool.
Gloves / bootsUseful speed and movementMovement improves mechanic execution; speed value depends on the class loop.
Rings / accessoriesFunctional skill ranks and appropriate statsComplete a useful total-rank threshold before paying heavily for cosmetic combat-power gains.
Manastones / rerollsOne affordable useful improvement firstDo not exhaust the budget chasing several perfect rolls on an item being replaced soon.
ArcanaRanks plus a coherent set effectCount the resulting skill levels after each replacement.

Arcana planning

Build recommendation

Choose core active ranks and Attack Preparation/other actually used passive ranks. Compare a missing functional skill threshold against a small set-bonus gain before replacing an Arcana. There is no demonstrated universal five-piece set winner in the reviewed sources, so this guide recommends rank targets rather than inventing one.

Food buffs and sustain

In-game macro and manual controls

Build recommendation

The repeatable priority is Raging Burst → available Overhead Slam/selected chain → Rending Blow. Early, weave Keen Strike for MP. In the developed setup, stop forcing basic attacks only after both key total-16 options are equipped and your MP remains stable. Keep buffs, deliberate blocking, movement and control breaks under your control. These are manual/in-game priority instructions, not an external automation recipe; timing depends on latency, speed and encounter movement.

Common mistakes and source disagreements

Build recommendation

Do not treat Ruinous Blow as the Slam trigger, select three options at total 16, or remove Keen Strike before your MP loop works. Grobs favours Focused Block over the old general-PvE Wave Armor slot. We retain encounter alternatives, avoid promises of guaranteed threat or permanent buffs, and preserve the current Stigma-10 plan. Global names Lunge Stance / Rage Burst / Experienced Counterstrike / Murderous Burst correspond to our Assault Stance / Raging Burst / Experienced Counter / Mortal Burst labels. Their source identities remain the matching key.

Upgrade order and a useful practice check

Build recommendation

Spend to remove the current bottleneck, then retest under comparable conditions.

  1. Make the four-slot loadout functional and equip the useful early specialties.
  2. Complete the main bonus-rank threshold through the cheapest available combination of board and equipment.
  3. Address misses, resource failure or deaths before chasing a marginal damage reroll.
  4. Practice a full sustained window, then a moving/interrupting window; track missed procs and expired buffs.
  5. Reassess the flex slot for the next dungeon rather than copying a fixed preset everywhere.
