AION 2 Combat Power Guide

15 character upgrades to check, a practical spending order, and the Global rules that matter. Find your next useful gain in gear, skills, Stigma, pets and permanent collections.

By AION2 Codex · Reviewed · Global-focused, source-scoped guidance

Quick answer

Start with missing upgrades you can already claim: unused skill points, empty Arcana or Pantheon slots, pet collection rewards, a useful title and wing effects. Then fund the next important skill or Stigma breakpoint and improve equipment you expect to keep. Check CP after each change, but judge the result by damage, survival or healing in your chosen activity. A bigger number alone does not prove a better build.

Your next three steps

  1. Choose your target: a dungeon entry requirement, better PvE performance, or a PvP build. Record both Combat Power and Item Level before changing anything.
  2. Audit the 15 systems below. Claim available rewards and fix empty slots before paying for perfect rolls. Pick one upgrade with a clear role benefit and a cost you can afford.
  3. Recheck the same preset after the upgrade. Record CP, Item Level, skill thresholds and cost; then test the change in comparable content before spending again.

First, separate CP, entry requirements and actual performance

Combat Power summarizes character growth; Item Level is a different number. A dungeon asking for 1,400 or 1,600 Item Level is not asking for that amount of CP. Read its entry panel. The official Korean CP announcement describes a PvE-weighted calculation from character stats and excludes consumables and skill buffs. That explains the distinction, but it does not establish identical coefficients for Global.

  • For damage dealers, an upgrade must support the skills and stats your rotation actually uses. A higher CP item can still lose a valuable skill bonus.
  • For tanks and healers, keep the survival, recovery and resource tools that let you do your job. Do not discard useful defense or HP merely because a creator was optimizing a damage build.
  • For Arena, evaluate PvP effects and your 1v1 or 5v5 role separately. This guide is not a PvP ranking formula. Food and buffs can improve a run even when they do not raise the persistent CP number.

What should you improve first?

This is our editorial order for a character with limited resources. Move a step earlier when it solves your specific bottleneck; there is no verified universal CP-per-Kina ranking.

Choose the next upgrade by its purpose
PriorityLook forMove on when
1 · Claim and equipUnspent points, claimable exploration or collection rewards, missing Arcana/Pantheon pieces, an unequipped useful title.Every available slot and reward has been checked.
2 · Reach a useful breakpointA key skill close to its next Specialty threshold; a selected Stigma near its next perk; an affordable Daevanion path. You can explain which part of your rotation or role improves.
3 · Build lasting gearA meaningful weapon or armor upgrade, sensible enhancement, useful normal stat lines and affordable sockets. The replacement path and transfer preview are understood.
4 · Optimize selectivelyAmp, expensive rerolls, premium stones and rare collection targets. The expected benefit is worth the cost compared with your remaining basic upgrades.
  • If entry is the problem, use our Item Level progression route. If you can enter but struggle to clear, inspect your build, skill choices and execution before buying CP.

1–3 · Titles, wings and Pantheon: check the bonuses you already own

These systems are easy to overlook because their rewards sit outside your main equipment screen. Open each one before starting another expensive gear project.

  • 1. Titles — claim completed achievements, inspect Owned and Equip effects, and equip a title that helps your current activity. Compare the actual tooltip rather than choosing the rarest name. A title shown in Asian footage is not proof that the same unlock is available on Global.
  • 2. Wings — distinguish the permanent Owned Effect from the bonus of the pair you wear. A second useful collection entry can matter even when you keep your current equipped wings. Compare the unlock cost first. The reviewed Global launch reference has no wing enhancement; appearance-only shop wings are not a guaranteed stat upgrade.
  • 3. Pantheon — check statues, colossus and artworks for empty or outdated slots. Claim relevant achievement rewards, then compare available crafting and currency options. Wisdom, Time and Destruction provide Smite, Combat Speed and Attack Increase respectively; survival or resource needs may justify other choices. Check the bonus in your active setup instead of assuming every collectible is automatically active.

4–6 · Arcana, equipment and pets: fill the gaps before chasing perfection

Work on these systems alongside one another. A serviceable missing card or an unclaimed pet milestone can be a more sensible next step than another roll on an already usable item.

  • 4. Arcana — Global's five card slots are Chalice, Parchment, Compass, Bell and Mirror. Check both the Pantheon stat and useful skill lines. Keep a workable set while pursuing cards that push important skills toward a breakpoint. Do not destroy a useful skill combination just to match a color or chase a perfect set. Transcendence is part of the card progression route; check the selected reward pool.
  • 5. Gear and enhancement — replace genuinely weak pieces and improve equipment that serves your build. Before enhancing or amplifying, inspect that item's current limit, costs and replacement plan. Global Amp eligibility and caps depend on the item; the video's +15/+20 and five extra levels are not a promise for every piece. A higher-grade drop still needs comparison with your existing skill lines and upgrades.
  • 6. Pets and Genus — open the collection, claim available soul milestones and inspect your Genus allocation. Progress is broader than the pet following you. Choose farms that improve a missing collection entry or your intended Genus route; avoid paying a premium just for rarity. The reviewed Global launch reference uses three pet levels, so do not copy an Asian five-level plan.

7–10 · Stat lines, Manastones, Theostones and Soul Binding

Set a spending ceiling before opening a random upgrade screen. First fix clearly unhelpful lines or empty usable sockets; reserve costly finishing work for equipment you expect to retain.

  • 7. Gear stats — use your class and activity guide to choose relevant lines. Preserve a valuable skill-level bonus and check the effect of losing it. Accuracy needs, damage multipliers, defensive requirements and MP stability depend on your build and target. We do not treat a single Smite or Crit percentage as a universal Global cap.
  • 8. Manastones — fill usable sockets with affordable, relevant stats before demanding the best grade in every slot. Compare the whole cost of replacing a stone, especially on temporary gear. The highest number on an unrelated stat is not automatically the best upgrade.
  • 9. Theostones — inspect eligible equipment and the full proc or effect text. Choose for the activity and role, then check cost and replacement behavior. The video's fire recommendation is creator advice for a particular context; this guide does not declare one Theostone best for every Global class.
  • 10. Soul Binding / Soul Sync — compare the actual stat result, eligible slot and resource cost in the current interface. Keep an acceptable outcome when the next improvement is speculative or the item will soon be replaced. Treat Soul Fuse and other extra investment separately from ordinary transferable lines.

11–13 · Daevanion, feathers and the PvP board

Plan toward an identifiable node or reward. Scattered points can raise a number without delivering the skill change you were trying to reach.

On smaller screens, scroll the table sideways.

Mastery skill levels: the distinction that changes your build
Total skill levelWhat to check
8One Specialty slot; choose an available option that supports your rotation.
12Two Specialty slots; another option becomes available.
16All five options are available, but only two can be selected.
20Three Specialty slots; review your combination again.
  • 11. PvE Daevanion — compare the route to a useful skill node with its full path cost. Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel and Triniel share the relevant PvE point budget; do not plan each board as though it has an independent pool. Use the class planner to see which total skill level you will actually reach.
  • 12. Feathers and exploration — finish nearby missing Daeva's Traces and claim Monolith rewards. Inspect each milestone for skill points and permanent stats. Spend the points on skills you use, then select the newly available options. The video's example CP gain per skill is not a fixed conversion rate for every character.
  • 13. PvP Daevanion — review Azphel separately, including its currency and the actual effect of each node. A PvP-only bonus is not a PvE damage bonus. The creator's example of bridging an entry threshold concerns Item Level; do not relabel it as a CP requirement. Check the current content entry panel and your available resources before investing.

14–15 · Stigma and skin collections: invest in what your build uses

These are long-term projects. Start with available rewards and a concrete build target rather than copying a late-game account's total investment.

  • 14. Stigma — fill your four selected Global slots and follow your class guide's priority. Our 1 → 5 → 10 route is an investment plan, not a claim that level 10 is the cap. The reviewed Global reference describes manual progression to 20 with perks at 5, 10, 15 and 20. Reassess cost and role benefit at each stage. The creator's five/six-skill, level-25 and very large CP examples are not a Global build prescription or a promised gain.
  • Check current Nightmare, Shugo Festa and Abyss-related rewards or shops for Stigma resources. Compare the next purchase with other uses of that currency. Arena and Battlefield shop entries share the documented Abyss stock; they are not three independent supplies. Read current remaining stock, price tiers and reset rules.
  • 15. Skins / Closet — review uncollected appearances that grant collection progress, especially your weapon type. Decide whether an item is needed for equipping, selling or transfer before extracting it; an eligible extraction is not always a guaranteed new skin. Collection effects and the appearance you wear are separate. Do not buy a cosmetic assuming it raises CP: Global shop and Founder's cosmetics are described as appearance-only.

Before replacing gear: check what survives transfer

The video's advice to carry improvements into your next item is useful, but 'everything transfers' is too broad. Read the destination preview before committing and budget for the investments it will not preserve.

InvestmentPlanning rule
Normal stat lines, enhancement and AmpCan carry through eligible transfer. Confirm grade, tier, slot and destination compatibility in the preview.

Manastones, Soulstones and TheostonesDo not carry through the documented transfer route; include replacement cost.
PotentialDoes not carry. The Global reference is PvP-focused; do not import a Korean PvE Potential recommendation.

Turn the checklist into a session plan

Choose one bottleneck and one affordable improvement. This routine is our recommendation, not a measured fastest route or a requirement to complete every activity each day.

On smaller screens, scroll the table sideways.

Match the activity to the missing upgrade
If you need…Check…Before committing
Better core equipmentYour appropriate Expedition / Conquest rewards and crafting options.Entry requirements, reward eligibility, Odyle and whether the drop is actually an improvement.
Arcana or a skill breakpointTranscendence rewards, your existing cards and the Daevanion planner. The card or skill you need; do not assume a guaranteed drop.
Stigma or Pantheon growthNightmare, Shugo Festa, achievements and relevant currency shops.Current stock, reward limits and competing purchases.
Affordable permanent progressNearby exploration gaps, pet souls, unclaimed collection rewards and available Ascension rewards.Which milestone is close and what it gives your character.
  • Before spending: record the preset, CP, Item Level, key skill levels, relevant stats and starting resources.
  • After one change: use the same preset without temporary consumable or skill buffs. Record the differences and the actual cost; allow the character display to refresh.
  • Then compare similar fights. Note clear time, deaths, healing or resource problems as appropriate. One lucky critical sequence or different party buffs are not proof of the upgrade's value.
  • Stop and reassess if you gain CP but lose your important Specialty threshold, reliable healing, MP stability or the ability to survive mechanics.
