Legions, communication and combat controls
Set up party communication, check legion permissions and use the game’s own control options for a clearer session.
By AION2 Codex · Reviewed · Global-focused, source-scoped guidance
Quick answer
Agree on communication and permissions before a group activity. Configure controls where the game provides them, then test on a low-risk target.
Your next three steps
- Check chat channels and rebind any uncomfortable controls.
- Agree on tank, support and mechanic calls.
- Review legion storage permissions before depositing shared materials.
Useful chat shortcuts
The reviewed client reference lists /p for party, /l for legion, /w for whisper and /r for replying. Key bindings and control modes can be changed, so consult your Settings when a shortcut behaves differently.
Legion resources need clear permissions
The legion reference describes editable rank permissions and a storage transaction log. Decide who can withdraw, who manages a hall and what deposited materials are for. Joining a group does not make all members’ inventory shared.
Combat controls and built-in macros
AION 2 has an in-game Macro setting in the reviewed control reference. Check its assigned key and skill-preset behavior before using it. Keep movement, defensive reactions and timed party tools under deliberate control while learning an encounter. A built-in feature is not approval for unrelated third-party automation.
Before a dungeon attempt
Our recommendation: choose short calls for stop, move and stagger; check that everyone can see party chat; agree when to pause for explanations. Consistent communication usually helps more than adding another complicated key sequence.
