Hidden Cubes: check the key before opening
Understand keyed and unkeyed Hidden Cubes, character-bound keys and how their rewards support Genus progression.

Why the key matters
The community Global client reference lists a keyed opening at 1,000 Soul Crystals. Unkeyed rewards are smaller and may include random additions. Some cube types are key-only. A rare wing or cosmetic in the reward pool is not a promised result.
Find keys before a collection trip
The reference lists keys among certain quest, achievement, attendance and seasonal rewards. Inspect those menus on the character you plan to use; it reports Hidden Cube keys as unavailable to Server Storage.
- Check achievement milestones and quest rewards.
- Read the current season shop stock and limit.
- Do not buy a key solely because a rare reward appears in a list.
Connect the reward to a goal
Soul Crystals are useful for Genus Analyze. Count the Kina cost as well as the crystals, especially when locks are involved. Our recommendation is to plan a small exploration loop and a defined Genus budget rather than treating each cube as a guaranteed character-power jump.
