Manastones, Soulstones and Theostones

Choose the correct socket system and avoid expensive stone rolls on equipment you will replace.

By AION2 Codex · Reviewed · Global-focused, source-scoped guidance

Quick answer

Use the stone type that matches the slot, then choose effects for your role and activity. Check the equipment replacement plan before spending rare stones.

Your next three steps

  1. Confirm whether the item takes Manastones, Soulstones or a Theostone.
  2. Choose a useful effect using your class and activity.
  3. Inspect the replacement and transfer rules before socketing valuable materials.

Know the stone families

The cited reference places Manastones in weapons and armor, Soulstones in accessories, and a Theostone in a weapon. A similar name does not make the materials interchangeable. It also reports that these investments do not survive Transfer.

Evaluate the roll

Read both the effect and its value. Colour alone does not tell you whether the effect helps your build. A positional damage effect requires you to maintain that position; a PvP effect should be assessed for PvP.

  • Start with the activity you actually play.
  • Keep a usable roll while other equipment slots still have inexpensive upgrades.
  • Check exact current probabilities before spending a large stack.

Set a stopping point

Our recommendation is to choose a material budget before rerolling. Stop when you reach it and compare that expense with a guaranteed upgrade elsewhere. We do not reproduce Asian-release odds as verified Global probabilities or promise a particular roll after an average number of attempts.
